About The Lantern Rooms

Launched in 2025 by therapists Debbie and Pam, The Lantern Rooms is a welcoming therapy space in Whitley Bay, created with care, ethics and community at its heart. It exists to support the people who work here and the people who come here for support.

We believe therapy spaces should feel human rather than clinical, and supportive rather than transactional. Whether you are a therapist building or growing your private practice, or someone seeking counselling, our aim is to offer an environment where people feel safe, respected and at ease.

Everything about The Lantern Rooms has been shaped by listening to therapists, to clients and to the wider community, so the space reflects real needs, not rigid models. We are not here simply to provide rooms. We are here to offer a professional home where therapists feel supported in their work and where clients feel welcome as they begin and grow.

Pam Stenhouse
Therapist & Co-Founder

Debbie and Pam are the founders of The Lantern Rooms. Both are qualified therapists who set out to create a safe, welcoming space for counselling in North Tyneside and the surrounding areas.

With firsthand experience of therapeutic work, they understood the importance of an environment that feels calm, respectful and genuinely supportive. Their vision for Lantern Rooms was to offer empathetic, ethical support in a space where people feel listened to and able to work through life’s challenges at their own pace.
