Debbie and Pam are the founders of The Lantern Rooms. Both are qualified therapists who wanted to create a safe, welcoming space for counselling in North Tyneside and beyond. Their vision was simple: to offer empathetic support that helps people work through challenges and move towards a happier life. They look forward to welcoming you to The Lantern Rooms.

Debbie supports adults and children with various life challenges affecting mental health and well being including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, grief and trauma. Debbie is also a registered practitioner with The Foundation of Infant Loss.

    Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Creative & Clinical Supervisor

    Elli specialises in creative and integrative psychotherapy with children, teens and adults to support social, emotional and mental wellbeing, explore past and current experiences, and make positive changes.

    Working within a supportive, nurturing relationship, Elli uses talk, play and creative methods to foster deeper understanding. These can include sand tray, games, imaginary play, puppets and art materials.

    Elli also offers creative and clinical supervision to qualified practitioners.

    CBT Therapist, EMDR Practitioner, Clinical Supervisor

    James helps people feel more in control of anxiety, OCD, trauma, and health worries.For those caught in cycles of intrusive thoughts, “what if” fears, or flashbacks, he supports clients in breaking unhelpful patterns and building practical strategies to feel calmer, more confident, and reconnected with life.

    Therapy with James is calm, focused, and collaborative. He offers a grounded, supportive space where clients are heard without judgement and can take meaningful steps forward at a pace that feels right for them.

    Specialist Paediatric Nurse, Health Visitor and Parenting Consultant.

    Deborah is a Specialist Paediatric Nurse, Health Visitor, and Parenting Consultant with over 30 years’ experience.

    She helps parents of children aged 0–6 understand what’s behind big emotions and behaviours, and create calmer, more connected family life.

    Her approach is therapeutic yet practical, supporting both parent and child. Working together, families build confidence and everyday strategies that help them feel grounded, capable, and closer.
